Using VidArch
Import a channel
Declare a personal channel and associate its videos with VidArch.
The account menu offers Import to add a channel that you own. VidArch can store multiple channels and set the active one as My channel.
Difference from a subscription
An imported channel represents your creator identity within the interface. A subscription is used solely to track a third-party channel. Both can be linked to a YouTube identifier, but their uses remain distinct.
Best practices
- Use the exact URL or identifier of the channel;
- Verify the result before launching the archiving of the entire catalog;
- Explicitly choose the automatic download mode;
- Keep an independent backup of the original files.
Importing does not prove ownership to YouTube and never modifies the remote channel.
